Loved reading this book, we are planning a cruise in November. Lots of good info, especially about some of the shore excursions. But I want to do 2 of them! I'm a fabric artist and want to go to the village, but we are only doing the partial transit, so have booked the complete transit on tour boat. Guess I'll have to come back! :). Great book to read when you are preparing for a cruise through the Panama Canal.There are so many interesting facts in this book to help make your transit through the Canal an enjoyable event.Once I started reading the book, I looked forward to the next chapter.It is difficult to believe that this engineering feat was actually accomplished 100 years ago without the technology of today.A must book to have to prepare you for your cruise!

This is an informative and useful book for those of us planning a trip to the Canal.The history of the canal is particularly interesting and well presented.It needs a sharp pencil editor to eliminate some repetition of text and use of colloquialexpressions.
Did not finish. I didn't buy this book for history I thought it was an hour by hour account.
