I really enjoyed this book. I am especially drawn to stories taking place in cities and places new to me and this author did a wonderful job of describing Copenhagen and making me want to learn more about Denmark. I also appreciated that there was a lot more to the story than romance, although there was that too. (There was ONE sex scene, 3/4 of the way through, which I didn't mind one bit.) All of the characters came to life in the beautiful setting. It was a real hygge story!
Another love story that is current with what goes on in today's world. The happenings of a job and the people who you interact with. It is a happy story and has some humor to go along. I was getting a little tired of the main character always doubting herself but still wanted to read it until the end.
I really loved this book. Because I am a second generation Danish American I love reading anything about Denmark. We have visited some of the places mentioned in the book and I liked that. The story was interesting, too. However, I can't figure out why this generation of young people completely ignore the grammar rule that says you always put the other person first, as in, Amy and I. "Me and Amy" is NEVER correct! She gave the cookies to Amy and me. Amy and I went home. Also, NEVER "Me and her" She and I caught the train to Copenhagen. (In your head, leave the others person's name out before you say the sentence, to be sure you have right.)
I needed this escape read. A fun book set in London and Copenhagen. An on again off again romance, some new friendships, and a good "moral of the story" to work less, enjoy life more. All mixed in with some hygge and coffee and Danish pastries that sound divine.
This a totally enjoyable read. The characters and setting of the story totally interested me. I loved the description of the hygge lifestyle, the food, and the culture of Denmark. I will read more by this author.
Omg I love everything from the Danish concept of hygge, through the beautiful descriptions, characters, and plot. Personal growth, learning what's most important, friendship, romance, laughter, and tears. This story really spoke to me, and I and looking forward to making my surroundings and life in general, more hyggeligt!
Absolutely loved this book. I had been only once to Copenhagen and fell in love with it. I don’t want to spoil anything about the story but if you are struggling with work life balance read this. It is not a how to book but a book that you can identify with. I know that I desperately need to stop the rat race I’m in at the moment and find the calm of hygge. Having read this it has allowed me to focus on getting my work life balance sorted.
Cute story of finding a "life adjustment" in a country known for happiness. Warning: the food descriptions may have you yearning to do some baking!
