About the Author
Graduating from the West Coast College of Astrology in the mid 80s, Celeste Teal (Arizona) actually began her journey into the field of astrology as a complete skeptic. The first time she opened a book on the subject, in 1975, it was to discredit astrology and to prove to an acquaintance that astrology couldn't be believed. However, the first book she opened happened to show a little more than the usual sun sign descriptions and she found enough truth within those pages to convince her that there was indeed something to it. The surprising revelation that the planetary positions at our birth and their movements following birth are somehow synchronized with human events greatly excited her and it wasn't long before she realized she'd found her calling as she delved passionately into the art of astrology as a means by which to learn more about the meaning of life. Her goal is to promote astrology and teach astrologers the most valuable and reliable techniques for interpreting the horoscope. Celeste Teal has continually written for the popular astrology magazines since 1986. These include American Astrology Magazine, Dell Horoscope, Astrology, Your Daily Horoscope, and True Astrology Forecast. She has written for Sydney Omarr's Astrological Guide and has contributed to Today's Astrologer, a publication by the American Federation of Astrologer's and to the Arizona Society of Astrologer's newsletter. Celeste Teal is the author of three well-received books, Predicting Events with Astrology, Identifying Planetary Triggers, and Eclipses: Predicting World Events & Personal Transformation, all published by Llewellyn Worldwide. Her most recent book, Eclipses, was reviewed in Library Journal. Celeste is hostess of her popular website, called Moon Valley Astrologer (at www.moonvalleyastrologer.com). This book is a rare jewel.. One that can actually use. Many books in astrology have instructions that are quite difficult to understand and authors make asumptions about the reader's knowledge. Not Celeste Teal, she explains everything in a very simple manner. I love how she writes because I can understand clearly what she is saying and her books (yes, books... I have 2 other books from her because I love her very non complicated, direct approach) are an EXCELLENT tool to begin the predictive process in a chart.The book is RICH with information, truly a rare jewel that I have been using over & over again. I have waisted my money on so many books that have maybe a nugget of information here or there in the entire book !! But this book... is by far the opposite !! You won't regret your purchase. The only reason I gave her 4 stars, was because I would have liked to have had the reference in the beginning, while the charts could have been part of the end part of the book..
I recently purchased this updated and enlarged 2009 edition of Predicting Events With Astrology. I love it. A few years ago, I had paid $35 for a yellow-highlighted, used copy of the first edition, and am now happy to have a clean, new and much-revised book. There is now a section on my bookshelf with all of Teal's books lined up in a row.Though a astrologer-hobbyist for 30 years -- a dabbler almost -- I learn more every day about astrology, and whenever a difficult question crosses my mind, I usually reach for the relevant book in Teal's series. The series in fact by now could be considered a "course" in astrology, as it is so complete. I find with Celeste Teal I can follow difficult principles without getting lost. She expresses her ideas so clearly and compactly that I can move from page to page and try to unpack her remarks at my own pace. I have read other astrology books and found some of them consisted of puffed up, unclear ideas that were expressed vaguely as if astrology were a science that dealt with vague matters. It does not.In their thoroughness, Teal's works suggest that she has a capacity to dig deeply and remember what she has learned from many sources during her more than 30 years of study. She has a strong curiosity and an infectious, gently-expressed enthusiasm that leads the student forward. In a curious way, her ideas seem to build on and emanate from older principles of astrology developed in the Middle Ages and this connection with old lore seems to add value to her writings.I strongly recommend all of her books to astrology students and teachers at all levels.

As I completely agree with the preceding reviews, I wasn't planning to add anything to them, till I remembered how doubtful I was about ordering this book. If you are like me, you tend to stay away from authors with Seemingly made-up names, but then I realized that every mag article I'd read by Ms.Teal had been very informative, so I ordered. This book is No Disappointment, & one thing I appreciated is her info on using converse, precessed, & converse precessed with your Solar Return charts, giving you 4 layers rather than just the one.Using the 1st natal planet to rise in the Return chart is well-eplained also. Am now ordering her 2nd book, & am very glad I bought this one!

Good book but be aware that moving houses/ relocation/travel is completely missing. Lots of info on disease and crime though
A good start for Horary or Event Astrology. Celeste recommends Matrix Software but I would encourage you to stay away from this product. There are others out there that are better than this program.
